To make sure your privacy is kept as secure as possible we only keep some of your details on file, which are stored securely in your account area to make it easy for you when you shop again. SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you make a purchase from Bright Star Kids, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, email address & mobile phone number.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, special offers and other updates. You can unsubscribe at any time through the "Want to Unsubscribe?" link.

Remarketing: Bright Star Kids also uses 3rd party vendor re-marketing tracking cookies, including the Google Ads tracking cookie. This means we will continue to show ads to you across the internet, specifically on the Google Content Network (GCN). SECTION 4 – ECOMMERCE PLATFORM

Our store is hosted on Magento. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Magento’s data storage, databases and the general Magento application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Magento stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard and American Express. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. We retain different types of personal information for varying periods depending on legal and operational requirements, e.g. order and tax data is kept for 5 years while marketing consent is reviewed annually.

We collect and use certain Sensitive Personal Information (SPI), such as payment card details and login credentials, solely to provide secure and essential services. We do not use SPI for advertising, profiling, or sharing purposes. You may limit our use of SPI by contacting us.

Surveys and User Groups:

We always aim to improve the services we offer. As a result, we occasionally canvas our customers using surveys. Refer/Email a Friend:

We may from time to time operate a “Refer/Email a friend” service. This is a referral service, designed to make it easy for customers to recommend our Site and related Web sites or offers to a friend, and is a two-step process. First, a customer sends us the friend’s name and email address, and secondly, we contact the friend, telling them who we are, and inviting them to take advantage of a particular offer or to visit our Web site.
